Update From the Front Lines of DPS Production

There are many signs that ski season is getting close. From the DPS office I'm able to see a dusting of snow in the higher points of the Wasatch Range. I've also heard that the ultra-motivated are already making turns in the CO high country. For me, the surefire way to know that ski season is imminent is the boxes of DPS Skis shipping from our warehouse every day.  In the past days we've put hundreds of skis into the Fed-Ex truck. I guess that means I can start scraping the storage wax off of my Lotuses.

Thanks to tremendous buzz around the 10/11 product line and our continued expansion into the retail channel we experienced unprecedented demand during the preorder season. We had to scramble a bit to meet demand but after increasing our manufacturing capacity by 50 percent and frantically rushing several shipments of raw materials we're going to be able to fulfill all of our preorder demand and still have stock left over for those who want to purchase skis during the season.

Our first round of production was entirely sold out before it was even finished but we're finally starting to get skis from our second production run. While it is likely that the second production run will sell out before the season is over we're going to have enough stock arriving in October/November that we will have stock on all models..

Our increased production capacity will help us stay ahead of demand for the near future but it is likely that many skis will sell out mid-season this year. If you order now we can promise delivery before the end of December but if you wait too long our inventory could be running out.
