EXPLORE THE

Grom 99

Groms are our contribution to skiing. Inspired by some of our most iconic shapes, they are built to the same standards as our adult skis, prioritizing durability and performance, and using all the same top quality components. Our mission is to provide the highest quality tools that lay a foundation to stoke the next generation of young skiers, so they will continue loving the sport as the years pass.

  • Unidirectional carbon
  • World Cup race base
  • Bi-phase bamboo+poplar wood
  • Rockwell 48 steel edges

A supremely damp, powerful, and durable construction. Employing best-in-class components from start-to-finish, weight was not a factor during the design process. Triaxial fiberglass wraps the bamboo and poplar bi-phase wood core, while unidirectional carbon stringers add torsional stiffness. The result is an on-snow feel that produces a wonderful blend of power and dampness, and is readily accessible to a wide range of skier profiles. Every model in the Foundation series shares DPS’ C2 and RP chassis shaping that yields design and performance consistency from shape-to-shape and length-to-length.

Perfect progression ski for the groms

I picked up two of the 99's in 148 & 158 for my ripping grommets who were out skiing the plywood core junk that Atomic was putting out there. We ski off the tram in Jackson, High Boy at Alta, hike EGP at Soli, basically everywhere dad goes they go. Now I know the skis aren't going to limit the amount of adventure we can have together.
The Groms have everything you want in an adult DPS ski. Classic rocker camber rocker, tip/tail splay with deep taper and a tight turning radius that is still capable to make longer turns at speed. A classic all-mountain shape for what we ski here in the Wasatch, they're not held back on hard pack. The foundation construction is burly enough for when my nuckleheads do park laps when we hit mid mountain even though I ask them not to do rails.
Now that my older son is grown into adult sizes he loves skiing the Wailer A99. Atta boy :P
