DPS Hires New Marketing Director and Executive Producer
Salt Lake City, UT—DPS Skis has named Dan Benshoff Global Director of Marketing, and also Executive Producer of DPS Cinematic. Benshoff has a long, successful history in marketing and design having spent over 15 years running large product groups for ESPN in Bristol, Connecticut. At ESPN, Benshoff served as the Creative Director of ESPN Digital Media. Most recently, Benshoff oversaw design and development at ROKA Sports in Boulder, Colorado.
Prior to ESPN, Benshoff was part of the original teams that launched the first digital properties for the NFL, NASCAR, NBA and Outside Online while directing design for Starwave, one of the pioneering digital media agencies in Seattle, Washington.
Benshoff assumes the role from Philip Drake who has led DPS’ marketing and branding for the last nine years; helping to steer DPS from infancy to a leading global ski brand.
“We’re excited that Dan has joined the DPS family. He has proven himself with tremendous success creating and launching dynamic products used and loved by millions worldwide. Dan has a passion for the mountains and we’re thrilled to continue to push the realms of what is possible in skiing and the snow realm,” said DPS’ founder, Stephan Drake.
“I’m absolutely pumped to join the team at DPS,” says Benshoff. He added, “The quality of their products, the company ethos and the affinity they have with their customers is inspiring.”
Benshoff will also serve as the executive producer for DPS Cinematic, focusing on efforts to expand its reach and secure partnerships for the coming seasons.
DPS designs the world’s most advanced skis. Inspired by a vision to make perfect skis worthy of those who live and breathe the sport, and located at the base of the Wasatch Mountains in Salt Lake City, DPS introduced the world’s first prepreg carbon fiber sandwich ski, the first 120mm powder pintail, transferred the word “rocker” from surfing to skiing—building the first rockered ski with sidecut—and then unleashed the Spoon. The fusion of space-age carbon technology and groundbreaking shaping allows dedicated skiers to match shaping with construction—giving an unparalleled choice, and resulting in the world’s most advanced quiver of skis.
