Job Title: Controller

OVERVIEW

Become an integral team member in a dynamic and growing company. DPS brings a fifteen-year legacy of innovation, with a brand deeply rooted in the core of the sport, and products that are design and engineering obsessed. DPS is seeking an experienced manufacturing controller to lead a growing internal accounting team. This individual will be a key team member providing financial leadership to all departments of the organization including, manufacturing, sales, marketing, and product development. As a trusted advisor to the executive management team, the controller is expected to oversee the tactical finance and accounting function within the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting operations and lead the growing finance team
  • Maintain general ledger and chart of accounts
  • Complete the month-end and year-end closings
  • Reconcile all balance sheet and income statement accounts as part of the monthly close process
  • Coordinate preparation of the monthly reporting package with external part-time CFO
  • Manage the budget process
  • Develop and monitor business performance metrics
  • Report risk issues and potential opportunities to the COO/CFO
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
  • Suggest and implement operational best practices within the finance and accounting department
  • Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
  • Provide guidance to all departments to implement sound accounting procedures

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Confidence to play a leadership role within the organization and be part of the executive team
  • Knowledge and understanding of the challenges and priorities of a young, entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with complex ERP-accounting system preferred (DPS uses IQMS)
  • Understanding and experience with multiple currencies
  • Ability to analyze existing operations and recommend and implement policies, procedures, and systems
  • Ability to present reports accurately and concisely to the CFO and/or executive management team
  • Ability to motivate, coach and develop junior accounting professionals
  • International business experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required, CPA, MBA or MAcc a plus

Job Title: Staff Accountant

OVERVIEW

The Staff Accountant will assist with and manage the day-to-day accounting responsibilities for DPS. The accountant is ex- pected to accurately manage and process the tactical accounting entries and reconciliations on a timely basis. This position also provides various support functions to the sales, operations, and fulfillment teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General journal entries- record general journal entries as required
  • Accounts payable- accurately create vendor bills and record payments on a timely basis (i.e. daily)
  • Accounts receivable- create invoices and apply payments on a timely basis (i.e. daily)
  • Cash- record all activity in client’s bank accounts in the accounting system on a timely basis (i.e. daily)
  • Reconcile all bank accounts as part of the monthly close process (i.e. no more than five days after month end)
  • Sales and use tax- calculate quarterly payments and file with state agencies
  • Assist controller as required with weekly reporting and month-end account reconciliations
  • Maintain general ledger and chart of accounts
  • Assist the controller with all monthly balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
  • Suggest and implement operational best practices within the accounting and operations departments
  • Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
  • Enter order requests for non-sales department’s internal needs
  • Ensure item profiles in ERP are updated contain all currently available data
  • Track credit card payments, apply to invoices as orders ship, and generally assist with AR reconciliation
  • Create item UPC labels as new items are added
  • Assist operations and accounting departments with projects as they arise

REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge and understanding of the challenges and priorities of a young, entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP
  • Familiarity with complex ERP-accounting system preferred (DPS uses IQMS)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skill required (Bill.com and Expensify experience a plus)
  • Strong and verifiable technical accounting skills
  • Ability to analyze existing operations and recommend and implement policies, procedures, and systems
  • Impeccable communication and interpersonal skills

Job Title: Various Production and Ski Technician Openings

Type of Position: Seasonal, Full-Time (32-40 hours/week)

General Description of Duties

DPS manufactures and sells snow skis to customers and dealers alike, worldwide. We are looking for motivated individuals who are comfortable working with a small team in a demanding manufacturing environment where the highest level to attention and detail is required. A ski or snowboard enthusiast is a plus, as is a background in composites. Additionally, the successful candidate should be extremely detail-oriented with a strong desire to do their job perfectly. Must be able to lift 30 pounds from floor-to-table height on a regular basis. Ability to read and write in English is necessary. Ability to work with metric measurements is desirable. The anticipated and current work schedule is a four-day week: Monday through Friday; 6:15 AM to 4 PM. DPS offers incentive pay plus a competitive wage.
