A letter from our President

Dear DPS Community,

The ski season is almost upon us and the anticipation is growing everywhere. Mountain areas here in the Western U.S. have already received significant snowfall at higher elevations. Some resorts in the Wasatch Range have recorded as much as 80 inches (2 meters) of snow with opening days planned for many Rocky Mountain resorts over the next couple of weeks. Many from the DPS factory team have already been donning their headlamps before the workday for early morning dawn patrols in the backcountry or sneaking into resorts to dodge snow making crews furiously prepping for opening day.

The relative uncertainty of the pandemic paradigm persists in the background for all of us in the snowsports ecosystem throughout the planning for this upcoming season. However, ski resorts across North America and the supporting cast of ski shops, hospitality and logistics providers managed to successfully navigate troubled waters to finish with a strong and memorable season last year. We expect this to be even more true this season as borders and travel in general continues to open up and provide more opportunities for people to safely get to the mountains.

Supply chain disruptions have been a constant theme throughout the past year as well. In our interdependent world it seems that no country, industry, or individual business has been insulated from these realities. At DPS Skis and PHANTOM, this has been true for us too, although our USA headquartered factory, world class team, and consistent, intentional focus on shortening our supply chain has helped us weather this storm relatively well so far. There have absolutely been weeks where we are sweating out the arrival of key raw materials or components from some place or another, but the team rallies and our partners scramble with us to keep things moving forward week after week. This has allowed us to get early season shipments out to ski shops in a timely fashion so they can keep their customers prepared and stoked for the season that is...just...about...here...

All this is to say: the DPS + PHANTOM teams are charging hard and excited to hit the skin tracks and lift lines with you in the coming weeks and months. Be sure to visit your local ski shops and share the stoke while supporting their dedicated teams as well. We are working hard everyday to make sure they are well stocked with the newest and best ever DPS Skis, AT bindings, climbing skins and of course, PHANTOM.

We'll see you out there soon...

Alex
