// Design Notes
95mm underfoot is such a sweet waist width. It offers great hard snow performance coupled with good powder and crud float. The old db Surreal was a great shape, and a good baseline for our redesign. We softened the first 20cm of tip to make it intiate easier and float better and then stiffened underfoot and into the tail to pull more stability out of the ski.
tip: the 175mm tip splits the difference between hard snow engagement and powder/crud float.

tail: skiers often asked for more tail kick on the old Surreal. We are no longer limited by tooling and able to raise the tail from 29mm up to 43mm.

sidecut: The Wailer 95’s tapered, pintailed geometry, is designed to promote rapid and deep engagement in the first phase of the turn while allowing the skier control over turn shape through the middle and end phase of the turn.

flex pattern: the wailer has a big mountain flex profile. The shovel is soft right at its inception for float and terrain absorption. It then stiffens quickly, endowing the ski with staightline stability, power and balance through the middle and end phases of the turn.
