Every skier’s quiver needs a dedicated frontside resort tool. Redesigned on a wider platform, the Cassiar 85 builds on the award-winning Cassiar family’s legacy. With an elite Pure3 carbon layup, the Cassiar 85 excels as a thoroughbred all-mountain performer with more power and edge grip than significantly narrower and heavier conventionally made skis. A 15m turn radius allows the skier to ride the sidecut for precise, powerful carves on-piste, while the newly shaped tip and tail rocker profiles facilitate easy turn entry and slip in crud, moguls, and trees.

Solid frontside performer

I skied these back-to-back vs my trusted Volkl RPM 81's for a few days and ended up keeping the DPS' because they felt rounder and just a bit snappier coming out of shorter radius turns. At 40mph+ and on icy sections the RPM was more confidence inspiring for me, but the playfulness of the Cassiar won me over. Turn-in is consistent and loading the tail creates a nice surge into the next turn. On steeper off-piste chalky snow the lighter feel of the Cassiar was more responsive where the RPM was more prone to powering through and realistically most of us don't always stay on the groomers all day so versatility is important. It might come down to style and preference but for me the DPS was clearly the better choice.
